# Influencer marketing that actually pays back

Creators are the fastest way to borrow trust you haven't earned yet. The founders who make influencer marketing profitable treat it as a repeatable system: source in volume, pay for incentives instead of reach, and give creators an angle that performs.

## Pay a small fee plus a big affiliate cut

Hire creators with a one-time fee plus a generous affiliate percentage. The upfront fee gets the deal signed, the affiliate cut aligns their incentive with your growth: they keep promoting long after the sponsored post, because every signup pays them.

## The roast format

Instead of a straight promo, have creators roast the tools in your category and crown yours the winner. Comparison content reads as opinion instead of advertising, ranks on search inside the platform, and pre-handles the objection every viewer has: why not the other one?

## Source where creators already are

Mass outreach first, qualify after they respond. Aim for the 10k to 200k follower tier (big enough to move numbers, small enough to answer DMs), log every prospect in a sheet, and fill that sheet with three methods:

1.  1The FYP method: create a fresh TikTok account, then search, save and comment on videos your target user would engage with, and long-press irrelevant posts away. Within days the For You page becomes a feed of creators in your niche.
2.  2The search and filter method: search what your target user searches ("how to \_\_\_", with ChatGPT or Claude generating the query list), open the Videos tab, then Filters, and sort by Like Count + Last 3 Months to surface the creators who are winning right now.
3.  3The related accounts method: on any good creator's Instagram profile, tap the small person icon next to Message. Instagram shows 15+ related accounts in the same niche. Repeat on each one for an endless prospect list.
